Alida Carole Cox, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 22, 2023, in Peachtree City, Georgia at the age of 83.
Born on October 7, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, Alida lived a life filled with love, joy, and inspiration.
Alida dedicated many years as an administrative assistant for IBM, and prior to that, she served as a bookkeeper for various other companies and charitable organizations.
Alida had a deep passion for cross-stitching and was a master at creating beautiful, intricate works of art that she shared with family and friends.
She had a green thumb and took pride in her garden, nurturing plants and flowers that bloomed under her care. A talented cook, Alida delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones, always ensuring that gatherings were full of good food, laughter, and warmth.
Alida’s faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, finding strength and solace in her spiritual community. Alida’s voice could also be heard in the parish choir, where she shared her love for music with others.
Alida will always be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, John “Tim” Hamilton Cox Sr., her sons, Mike Cox, John “Kip” Cox Jr (Kathy), and Bob Cox (Deb), and her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Cox, Matt Cox (Schuylar), Jon Cox, John H Cox III (Sarah), Alex Cox, Bobby Cox, and Becky Cox.
Her legacy also lives on through her great-grandchildren, John “JC” Cox IV and Kathryn Cox. Alida’s loss is also deeply felt by her sister, Katherine “Kass” Dushel, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
We will gather to celebrate Alida’s remarkable life and bid her farewell on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA.
Alida Carole Cox will forever be remembered as an inspiration to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
