Clyde Harvey Avery, born January 6, 1947 in LaGrange, GA, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
He is the grandson of Harvey Avery and Martha Serena Price of Tallapoosa County and Clyde Parker and Maude Calhoun of Randolph County. Son of Cumbee Hatley Avery and Ella Mae Parker Avery of Randolph County. Clyde was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Betty June Avery Buttrum and Helen Ann Avery Espy.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Moessner Avery; brother, Marshall Wayne Avery (Lorene); Children, Michael Eugene Avery and Melissa Avery Parker; Grandchildren, Grace Avery, Madison Parker and Mason Parker; a very special cousin, Diane Avery; Nieces and Nephews, Debbie, Toby, April, Brent, Jason.
Clyde graduated from College Park High School and began working at Delta Air Lines. Later he obtained his GA & AL Real Estate Lic. and AL Broker Lic., later developing Gin House Cove Subdivision in Wedowee, AL.
Prior to moving to Randolph County, Clyde was a First Responder, GA EMT 5107 and served as Fire Chief of Fulton County Station 1. He later received several Law Enforcement certifications, working with Randolph County Sheriff’s Office as Colonel in charge of the Sheriff’s Reserve, as a member of the Randolph County Rescue Squad and volunteer at Randolph County EMA Office.
Clyde enjoyed family time, friends, gardening and anything out on the water.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM CST at the First Baptist Church of Wedowee. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM CST before services begin.
