Judy Olivia Cash passed away on June 22, 2023. She was born March 8, 1936 to the late Royce J. and Flora Wilbanks Sewell in Toccoa, Georgia.
After graduating from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, she began her teaching career in Newnan and retired with 20 years of service from Cobb Co. Schools.
Judy was a talented cook, decorator, hostess, crafter, gardener, and storyteller. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church and used her many skills and talents to serve others. Judy had an unmatched sense of humor and her family and friends will miss this so much. She will be missed by many in her beloved Fayetteville and FUMC.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Royce J. Sewell, Sr., her brother, Royce J. Sewell, Jr. and her husband, Quentin R. Cash, Sr.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Anne Sewell Williams, of Woodstock. Also surviving are 5 nieces and nephews and their families: Becky Rountree and Dottie Jackson of Athens, Laura Hanna and Guerry Williams of Marietta and Joe Sewell of Toccoa. And her stepson, Quentin “Russell” Cash, Jr. and his family.
Additionally mourning Judy’s loss are the surviving members of the Big 8, her college friends of 69 years.
The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The service for Judy S. Cash will be Wednesday June 28 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at FUMC.
