Peachtree City Library will welcome Emmy Award-winning journalist John Pruitt on Tuesday, October 4, at 1 p.m. to discuss his debut novel, “Tell It True” (Mercer University Press, 2022).

“Tell It True” is loosely based on the murder of Lemuel Penn by Ku Klux Klansmen in 1964, a story Pruitt covered as a freshman reporter.

“There were many momentous stories I covered during my career,” says Pruitt, “but none equaled the magnitude of the struggles for racial equality in the South.” Pruitt eventually rose to anchor the evening news for many years at WSB-TV in Atlanta.

On-site book sales will be available through Book Miser. Light refreshments will be served.
