Jean Elizabeth Smith, 86, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away March 27, 2022. She was born on January 14, 1936, in Falconer, New York, to the late Archie and Carola Crapo.
Jean loved needlework and was an expert seamstress. She loved cats, and she loved to travel with her husband and with her sister, Rosalie. She was a founding member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and served as their piano player and choir director. Jean’s love for her community and children led her to work for the Fayette County Public School System as a school bus driver and later as an office worker.
Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Duane “RD” Smith; daughter, Mickey Perdue (Ed); son, Curtis Smith; grandchildren, Nicole Maddox (Cory), Andrew Smith (Fran), and Amanda Rodgers (Trysten); and great grandchildren, Alex, Vincent, Felicity, Abby, Zoe, and Zach. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Greg Perdue.
