Baseball season is right around the corner, and Huddleston Elementary recently got a visit from a family member who knows all about America’s Pastime. Atlanta Braves legend Dale Murphy, whose grandchildren attend the school, popped by to inspire the Hounds.

In honor of his jersey number 3 that is retired by the Braves, Murphy shared three key messages with the Hounds: Always do your best, never give up, and be a good teammate and friend.

Murphy visited with every grade level and even stayed after school to meet with all of the staff.

“He was gracious enough to offer to come spend time with all HES students and staff talking about how to be a champion,” said Assistant Principal Ashley Brookshaw. “It was a busy day at Huddleston!”
