A Newnan man who police say had been responsible for five shoplifting thefts in January and February from the Home Depot store in Peachtree City was taken into custody Feb. 12.

Dennis L. Bussie, 42, was charged with three counts of felony shoplifting (over $500) and two counts of misdemeanor shoplifting, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Bussie is charged with having stolen a power inverter on Jan. 22, a generator on Jan. 26, a drill set on Jan. 27, a welder on Jan. 30 and a welder on Feb. 4, according to Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt.

Hyatt said Bussie was apprehended in Coweta County after law enforcement there learned he was a suspect in the Peachtree City thefts.

In another incident, a cargo trailer was reported to have been forcibly entered at CubeSmart Self Storage on Dividend Drive.

Reporting the incident on Feb. 10, the owner said the cargo trailer had been entered sometime in the prior weeks or months, adding that a 65-inch television had been stolen, Hyatt said.
