No matter the obstacle, Jackson Langford rises above. For his tale of resilience among the biggest of setbacks, Langford was honored with the Fayette LIFE Academy Graduate Award.
On February 20, 2021, Langford was life-flighted to the Level 1 trauma center at Grady Memorial Hospital following a life-threatening injury. Doctors were not optimistic given a fractured skull and three cranial hematomas. After almost a week in a coma and two weeks in ICU, he was transferred to Shepherd Spinal Center where he learned to walk and talk again. Over the fall, just seven months after his accident, he enrolled in the Open Campus program, and he went above and beyond to successfully complete all graduation requirements.
For his determination, perseverance and hard work, Langford was named the recipient of the Fayette LIFE Academy Graduate Award at their fall semester graduation ceremony on December 15, 2021
