Frank Edward Milavec, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on November 21, 2021 surrounded by family.
Born in Canonsburg, PA on January 29, 1941, and raised in Bridgeville, PA, Frank graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1959. After going to work for Cyclops Steel, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served from 1963-1965, while stationed at Fort McPherson in Atlanta. It’s there he met Sandra, his future wife, and the two would go on to make a home together for 54 years.
After leaving the military, he worked as a Data Processor for International Harvester, and then remained with the Army-Air Force Exchange Service until retirement in 2006. Known to Pennsylvania friends and family as “Bud,” he was a friend to all, and always willing to help in times of need.
Funny, and fun-loving, Frank was always up for an adventure. He loved boating, playing with old cars, and working around the house and yard. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful, supportive father to his sons, and loving Pap to his two grandsons. He spent countless hours with his boys going to baseball games, soccer games, wrestling matches, BMX races, any kind of auto racing, and anything else they were interested in, or needed help with. He was truly a kind, gentle soul who will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara Milavec, brother, John Milavec, and wife, Sandra Milavec, Frank is survived by sons Mike (Tracey) Milavec of Fayetteville, Georgia, Jon (Lynn Harris Medcalf) Milavec of Concord, California, and grandsons Nick and Ethan, also of Fayetteville, Georgia.
A Remembrance Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests that expressions of sympathy be made in Frank’s name to the American Heart Association.
