Sidney Green Braswell, IV, 66, of Sharpsburg passed away on November 13, 2021 of bladder cancer. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 13, 1955 to the late Sidney Green Braswell, III and Jo Whitten Braswell. He loved to bird hunt, fish, water ski, camp, and hike. Sidney was passionate about music, telling great stories, making people laugh, cooking and entertaining.
Sidney attended West Georgia College where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and he retired from Georgia Industries for the Blind as National Sales Director.
Sidney volunteered for many years with Boy Scouts of America – Flint River Council, Sepohayetv District, where he was a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow; District Commissioner; a Council Commissioner; First recipient of the Tommy Fletcher award; received the Silver Beaver Award; attended BSA National Venturing Training at Philmont, New Mexico; co-coordinator of a Train the Trainer for Venturing Scout Leaders for the Southeast Region.
Sidney is survived by his wife, Terry Cera Braswell; daughter, Ashley Pace (Jason); son, Sidney G. Braswell, V (Kalie); grandchildren, Sidney Braswell, VI, Jackson Pace, Alexander Pace, Charlotte Braswell, Benjamin Pace, and Fletcher Braswell.
