Two businesses on Ga. Highway 92 South near the Flint River in south Fayette County experienced back-to-back forced entry burglaries in the early morning hours of Nov. 15.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies at approximately 3:33 a.m. were dispatched to an alarm call at the County Line Country Store, finding that the front door had been forced open.

Deputies cleared the building, with the owner arriving shortly thereafter.

Babb said the owner initially reported nothing missing, though an additional search of the business revealed that a large amount of cash had been stolen from the office.

The second burglary, which occurred within minutes of the first, happened at the nearby Flint River Store, also on Hwy. 92 South.

Responding to the alarm call, deputies arrived to find that the store’s front glass door had been smashed, Babb said.

Once the building was cleared by deputies, the keyholder reported that a small amount of cash had been stolen, said Babb.
