Lura Lee Bowerman, 82, of Peachtree City, Georgia passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on May 24, 2021.
She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. A native of Rochester, New York, Lee was born on July 20, 1938. Lee married her high school sweetheart Richard Bowerman. They raised their three children in Morrow, Georgia and retired in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Lee worked for Life of Georgia for 30 years. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and spent countless hours in her yard. A favorite in her garden was her bountiful blueberry bushes that she loved sharing with her neighbors and grandchildren. Lee was an avid walker and enjoyed walking her beloved Jack Russell Terriers Bo, Sam and Howie. Lee and Rich enjoyed traveling, but loved to call Peachtree City “home.”
Lee will be forever remembered by her beloved husband of 67 years, Richard Bowerman; son David (Lucy) Bowerman; daughter Denise (Kevin) Moeggenberg; daughter in law Debra Bowerman; granddaughters Kelly (Dustin) Allen, Dessie and Allie Bowerman, Meredith Moeggenberg; grandson Daniel Moeggenberg; great grandchildren Harper Randolph and Gracelyn Allen; sisters, Diane Coker and Faith (Randy) James; brother in laws Ray Bowerman, Harry (Pat) Bowerman; sister in law Linda (Tom) Schmitt; and many nephews and nieces. Lee was preceded in death by her son Danny Bowerman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Church located at 400 Windgate Road, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269. Attendees are asked to wear bright colors to celebrate Lee’s life. Lee loved plants and flowers, so flowers are welcome at the service. However, in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Fayette County Humane Society.
