Anne J. Martz, age 75, of Peachtree City, GA, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Elgin, IL on April 3, 2021; her three children were with her. She was born January 6, 1946 in Winchester, IN to her loving parents, John Henry and Francine “Pauline” Judkins (nee Cummins).

Anne was married to her husband, Douglas, for 37 years, and together they raised three children; she was very dedicated to her family. Although Anne and Doug moved quite a bit (Ft. Anne earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Ball State University, and went on to earn her master’s degree in special education from Roosevelt University. She taught at Whitewater Middle School for 15+ years and had faithfully served her church community, first at Episcopal Church of the Nativity, and later at St. Andrews in the Pines. Loved ones will remember her as determined, strong, and optimistic.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Douglas Alan Martz. She is survived by her children, Beth Kohler, Karen (Matt) Bartholomew, and Eric (Heather) Martz; siblings, Jayne Sample, and David Judkins; and grandchildren, Zachary Kohler, Maggie Kohler, Nathaniel Kohler, Jamie Martz, Elliot Kohler, and Sydney Martz.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 130 Antioch Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215.

Anne was a regular supporter of NPR and the DNC; in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to either of those entities.
