Barbara Lynne Every Howell, affectionately known as “Granny”, died peacefully at home on October 19, 2020 in Fayetteville, Georgia at the age of 77.
Barbara is survived by her three sons, Marc (and his wife Emily), David (and his fiancee Jill) and Chris (and his wife Kimber) as well as five grandchildren, Beth, Jennifer, Amanda, Roxy, and Shilah.
Barbara was born on 10 July 1943 in Clayton, New Jersey to Bill and Anne Every (“Hoot” and “Hootie”). As a toddler, her family relocated to Decatur, Georgia, where she graduated from Decatur High School, Class of 1961.
After graduation, she attended Mercer University where she met and married Glenn Howell, Sr. After three children, Barbara went back to school at Georgia State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in education and West Georgia earning her Master’s in Education. She taught for the Fayette County Schools for almost 30 years.
Mom loved spending time with her grandchildren, her swimming pool, gardening, and every reality TV show she could find.
