The Fayette Humane Society, in partnership with the Main Street Fayetteville and the HELP Spay/Neuter Clinic, will hold its third annual Fayette Love Your Pet event on Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville.

Fayette County pet owners will receive vouchers for free spay or neuter surgery for their cats or dogs at the HELP Clinic, and representatives will be available to schedule appointments.

On site, FHS will provide free rabies and/or distemper shots, as well as free microchips. Whiskers-N-Paws, a local volunteer-based animal advocacy organization, will help pay for the microchips. Hollywood Feed will also be there with samples of pet food.

The Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will present its annual “Blessing of the Animals” at 9:30 a.m. and a minister will be on hand afterwards until 10:30 a.m.

Everyone must wear a face covering, hand sanitizer will be offered, and social distancing guidelines will be followed. To receive the free services, pet owners must show identification and proof of Fayette County residence. Cats must be kept in carriers and dogs must be on a leash. Supplies are limited and first come, first served.

Watch the FHS Facebook page for any changes in venue in the event of inclement weather.
