Starr’s Mill High School presents “Bye Bye Birdie, A Musical Comedy,” starting March 5 and playing through March 9 at the school.

It’s 1958 and hip swingin’ teen idol Conrad Birdie is the biggest thing to top the charts. Women love him, men want to be him and teenage girls around the country scream with glee at the mere mention of his name.

But when the United States Army drafts Birdie, his singer-songwriter and agent, Albert, and Albert’s secretary and some-time girlfriend, Rosie, hatch a plan for a farewell performance to take place on the Ed Sullivan show.

To cap off the performance, Birdie will actually give “one last kiss” to Kim MacAfee, an avid member of the Conrad Birdie fan club from Sweet Apple, Ohio.

Their selection of innocent Kim MacAfee and arrival of bad boy Conrad send the wholesome enclave of Sweet Apple into chaos.

The production will be performed at Starr’s Mill High School on March 5th, 6th, and 7th at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the SMHS front office or at the door.
