NAACP Freedom Fund Keynote Speaker Chris Womack exemplifies theme, ‘Accelerating Change Despite the Odds’

Chris Womack, Vice President of External Affairs for Southern Company, the parent company of Georgia Power, will be the keynote speaker at the Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, November 16.

Womack’s extraordinary ability to excel in college, public administration, and government affairs led to the return to his Alabama roots to work for Alabama Power prior to becoming VP of External Affairs at Southern Company.

Sponsored by the Fayette County NAACP, the annual gala event was established to celebrate freedom and to fund the struggle to maintain freedom, justice and equality.

This year, the much anticipated event will be held at the Glendalough Manor Event Center, located at 200 Glendalough Court in Tyrone.

Awards will be presented to local individuals for outstanding community service and/or distinguished achievement.

The program begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception followed by dinner, speaker’s address, entertainment, and awards ceremony.

Business managers, owners and professionals are encouraged to contact the Fayette NAACP Branch to sponsor this gala event or to purchase an ad in the souvenir booklet.
