Allen Robert Coe passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home following a recent surgery.

Allen was born August 3, 1987 in Macon, Georgia. Allen grew up in Fairburn and Peachtree City. He graduated from Starr’s Mill High School in 2006, attended Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, and received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from University of West Georgia in 2011.

Allen was a sworn police officer, serving at the time of his death with the Police Department of Southern Crescent Technical College.   Allen was at the same time enrolled in the college as a student, working on completion of a Paramedic Degree, having already achieved Advanced EMT status.  He had also begun coursework toward an MBA from University of West Georgia at the time of his death.

Allen’s greatest joy in life was his son, Evan.  Allen cherished his family and friends, and was passionate about animals, sports and helping others.  Allen dedicated himself to the rescue of wildlife and abandoned animals.  He rescued birds (his prize Macaw, “Scrappy” was a great success story), squirrels (he just released his beloved “Rocky” back into the wild), cats, dogs, owls, and most recently a possum, just to name a few.

He loved his martial arts family and the various disciplines in which he excelled. He was always happiest on the mat, training or teaching.  He particularly enjoyed teaching the “Little Tigers” as he always called them.  Allen was a 4th Degree blackbelt in Tae Kwan Do and had belts in several other disciplines.  Allen was accomplished in tactical training and the arts of self-defense.  Allen also loved soccer, and from an early age he was a standout striker and continued to play on an elite team all through high school.

Allen is survived by his parents, Philip and Charlene Jennison Coe; his twin brother, Alexander Coe; his half-brother, Tommy Sime; his beloved son, Evan Lee Coe, and his son’s mother, Joyce Thompson; his fiancé , Yose Arteaga, to whom he was to have been wed on June 1st,  and Yose’s son, José ;  his aunts and uncles, Wally and Stephanie Coe, Andrea Coe, Bruce and Doe Marsh, John and Kathleen Hraba,  Bruce Jennison and Janis Jennison; his cousins, Aaron Coe, Sarah Coe Miller and Iris Coe-Gross, Nathan Coe Marsh, Christie Jennison Johnson,  Andrea Landers and Brian Espie; and extended family in Georgia, Florida and New Hampshire.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lemora Dobbs officiating, together with Deacon Jerry Daly.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

There will be a gathering of family and friends after the service at the Historic Train Depot, 250 E. Lanier Ave, Fayetteville.
