Robert Michael (Mike) Caldwell, 77 passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 2, 2019 from complications of cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace; children, Mike, Jr., Angela Hedden, Steve Hedden, Brian and Kathi Caldwell; grandchildren, Thomas James Caldwell, Stephen Tyler Hedden, Olivia Faith Hedden, Kayla Noelle Hedden, and Nicolas Caldwell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mike attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Atlanta, graduated from Marist Catholic High School, and received his Industrial Management and Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1965. Mike was Southern Regional Manager for Liquid Carbonic Corporation in Atlanta for thirty years
He helped coach Fayette County Blue Devils football, girls softball, and basketball. Mike loved sports, mainly Georgia Tech football. He worked the sidelines every Saturday to supply oxygen to different college and professional football teams across the country. He also worked sidelines for the Atlanta Falcons.
A funeral mass was held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Newnan. Burial followed at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family received friends on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.
