Ms. Carene “Elaine” Martin  Wilson, age 80, of Peachtree City, formerly of Kernersville, N.C. and Wytheville, Va., passed away February 6, 2019.

Ms.  Wilson  was born on January 19, 1939 in Winston-Salem, N.C. to the late Herman Arvill and Carene Wilson Martin. Ms. Wilson  grew up in Wytheville, Va. and graduated from George Wythe High School in 1956. She was a born-again Christian and baptized on March 31, 1968 at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Most recently Ms.  Wilson  worked as a property manager and retired from Page Construction in Kernerville, N.C. She enjoyed vacationing with her family in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she took in the natural beauty and serenity. She was warm, kind, entertaining, witty and nurturing. Many who knew her well affectionately referred to her as “Coochie.” Ms.  Wilson  was a godly and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many, and most importantly, servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Along with her parents, Ms.  Wilson  was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Lagarde and brothers-in-law: Robert Lagarde and Mike Hampton. She is survived by her sister: Gayle Hampton of Kernersville, N.C.; brother: Richard Martin of Wytheville, Va.; son and daughter-in-law: Garrett Owen and Loren Bynum Williams of Peachtree City, Ga.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Corinne Doré  and Aaron Rochotte of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter and fiancé: Claire Elizabeth Williams and Collier Jackson of Alpharetta, Ga.; nieces and nephews: Lisa (Rick) Pfefferkorn of Winston-Salem, N.C., Robyn (Jeff) Roberts of Greensboro, N.C., Chris Woodward of Kernersville, NC, Stacy (James) Orefice of Manassas, Va., and David (Jenny) Lagard of Olympia, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Christian Care www.swchristiancare.org 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga. 30291. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
