Thomas Eugene Carter, age 74, of Griffin died Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga. to Dr. A. W. Carter, Jr. and Margurerite Lackland Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Carter and sister-in-law, Claudia Carter.
Mr. Carter was a U.S. Army Veteran and he retired from Bell South after 30+ years of service.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn; children, Melinda (Jim) McWilliams and Kelley Carter; step-children, Donna (David) Goings, Beth (Jamey) Blackmon, and Kevin Hill; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and nephews, Wes (Elisha) Carter and David (Cinda) Carter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com.
