Mr. Jonathan James McCormick of McDonough, formally of Augusta, passed away December 9, 2018.
He was born on June 1, 1986 in Augusta, Ga. He attended Westside High School (Augusta) and Georgia Military College (Milledgeville). He is a veteran of the Army National Guard and served a tour in Afghanistan. He was employed by The ComTran Group Inc. Jonathan married Kellie (Miller) McCormick on October 21, 2017, and they resided in McDonough, Ga.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Lisa McCormick of Phenix City, Ala.; father, John McCormick of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Tabatha Price and her husband Steven of Ringgold, Ga.; Devlyn Washington and her husband Brock of Phenix City, Ala.; grandmothers, Barbara Ussery of Jackson, S.C.; Louise Swan of Greensborough, Ga.; father and mother-in-law, Ken and Jamie Miller of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Ussery.
Jonathan was an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He enjoyed spending quality time with all his family and friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home (8355 Senoia Road, (Hwy 74), Fairburn) with Minister Billy Rowe officiating. The family received friends Saturday from 1:30 until service time at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory. There was a reception after the service at Christian City Convalescent Center Chapel (7345 Red Oak Rd., Union City, GA 30291). Since Jonathan was an avid UGA Bulldog Fan we ask that you support him by wearing his favorite UGA colors.
