Mr. Robert Earl Moore, Jr. passed away Monday, November 19, 2018.
Earl was born June 27, 1930 in Atlanta and lived in the Atlanta area all of his life. After graduating from Brown High School, he joined Delta Air Lines in 1949. Shortly after joining Delta, he left to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning home, he continued his career of 43 years with Delta. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of East Point. Earl was a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge #288. He and his wife Barbara enjoyed square dancing for 33 years. They also enjoyed many years of traveling with friends.
Earl was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved sharing family time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him as well. Earl is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Barbara June Dalton Moore, mother Evelyn Yancey Moore and father Robert Earl Moore, Sr.
He is survived by three sons Ronald Alan Moore (Terri) of Marietta, Robert Gregg Moore (Jeannie) of Marietta and Roger Dalton Moore of Fayetteville; 5 grandchildren, Blakely Moore York, Patrick Rutledge Moore, Laura Cheney Moore May, Taylor Harrison Moore and Anna Nicole Moore; 6 great grandchildren, Ashton, Collin and Embry York, Grayson, Griffin and Cheney May.
In celebration of Earl’s life, visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at The Pinecrest Church, 103 Old Norton Rd., Fayetteville, Ga. with service beginning at 2 o’clock. Dr. J.W. Wallis will officiate. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family would like to thank the medical personnel at Piedmont Cancer Center/Infusion Lab and Home Instead Senior Care of Peachtree City for the loving care they provided Mr. Moore.
