Ms. Patricia Ann Murray, age 87, of Peachtree City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 14, 2018.
Ms. Murray was born in Arlington, Mass., on February 26, 1931, to the late Angelo and Ann Colucci. She grew up in Arlington alongside her sister Nancy. She married her beloved husband, Lawrence Murray on August 17, 1957. The couple spent years in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Georgia as well as Florida. She spent the later part of her life in Peachtree City, where she was close to family.
Ms. Murray was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Peters Catholic Church in Naples during her years spent in Florida. She was a frequent volunteer in her church and community. She was a proud member of the Red Hats Society and a devoted supporter of Braves baseball. Ms. Murray will be remembered as a beautiful and sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Along with her parents, Ms. Murray was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence George Murray and son, Peter Murray.
Ms. Murray is survived by her children: Steve (Lori) Murray of Gainesville, Ga., Kathy (Michael) Taylor of Fayetteville, Ga., and Paul Murray of Emerald Isle, N.C.; grandchildren: Aubrey, Samantha, Stephen, Drew and Peter; great-grandchildren: Ava and Georgia; sister: Nancy Dort of Calif.; nephew and niece: Mark and Marianne Dort of Calif.; nephew: Scott Murray.
A memorial service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla. late December. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ms. Murray’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
