Jeannette Langford Cosey, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 1. She was formerly from Albany, Ga. and was a resident at Ashley Glen Senior Living in Peachtree City. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Lewis Edmond Cosey, and a sister, Edith McMillan.
Jeannette was born on August 26, 1930 in Bainbridge, Ga. She lived all of her life in Georgia, mainly in Albany and Valdosta. Jeannette was a full-time mother and homemaker to three children. Mike and his wife, Jeanne, live in Woodstock, Ga., Marcie McDuffie and her husband, John, live in Peachtree City, Ga., and Brian and his wife, Kathy, live in Clyattville, Ga. Prior to moving to Peachtree City Jeannette was an active member of Avalon United Methodist Church in Albany.
Jeannette was a talented seamstress, home decorator, avid bird watcher, and loving mother. She and Lewis were great friends and neighbors to all. For those who knew them best, they were the “go to” team for repairing, installing, or altering almost anything. After moving to Peachtree City in 2011, Jeannette made new friends and will be fondly remembered for her expressive and no-nonsense personality. She will be greatly missed by many.
Jeannette is survived by a sister, Margaret Rowe of Albany, a brother, Bill Langford of Dothan, Ala., eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service was held on Saturday, August 11, at 11 at Crowell United Methodist Church in Reynolds, Ga. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Crowell Community Cemetery.
