Brice Edward Abell, 60, of Peachtree City, passed away peacefully at his home on March 15, 2018. Brice was born in Aurora, Ill. on February 17, 1958 to the late Lauren Floyd Abell and Evelyn Boyer Abell.
Brice had a dual career that reflected his passion for aviation and all things mechanical. He was trained as an aircraft mechanic, held an FAA Inspection Authorization and worked for United Airlines ultimately as a Station Maintenance Controller in Chicago for 16 years. After moving to Peachtree City, he worked for Advance Auto Parts in Fayetteville for 13 years and was certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. He possessed the ability to fix just about anything and enjoyed creating something from scratch.
Brice was also active in his community serving as Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 309 in Peachtree City and was an active member of the Starr’s Mill High School Marching Band Boosters Club for 4 years. He was a good man to all, sharing his considerable talents freely with all who needed them.
Mr. Abell is survived by his wife, Margaret Abell; sons, Adam and Andrew Abell; brother, Alan Abell (Susan Spengler-Abell) of Elgin, Ill.; sister, Diane Abell Cutler (Alan Cutler) of Granbury, Texas; three stepsons, Bradley, Derrick and Timothy (T.J.) Lynd all of Illinois and six nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, officiated by Deacon Richard Schmidt and Deacon Tony Cuomo.
