Mrs. Eula M. Geddie, age 96, of Fayetteville, died early Sunday morning March 18, 2018 at her residence.
A native of Riverdale, Ga., Mrs. Geddie was born on November 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Ira Hopkins Brown and Maude Leola Mitchell Brown. Mrs. Geddie was a graduate of the Campbell of Fairburn High School and had lived her life in the Fayetteville, East Point, Red Oak and surrounding communities. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was a member of the First Christian Church of Tyrone as well as a former member at East Point Christian Church for 60 years. She was married to Don Geddie on November 19, 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two sisters, Margie Brown Mitchell and Myra Brown Simmons and by a granddaughter, Meredith Holland Jones.
Survivors include her beloved and devoted husband, Mr. Don Geddie; two daughters, Marlene Geddie Holland and her husband, Jerry, and Jean Geddie Rodriquez and her husband, Ozzy; a very close nephew, Robert W. Simmons (Barbara); grandchildren, Noel Holland (Don Gruel), Donna Rodriquez Mesa (Herb), Tricia Rodriquez, Lindy Rodriquez Shahpazian (Michael), Chris Jones (Laura), and Gina Rodriquez (Russell) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ozzy Mesa, Tucker and Everett Jones, Matthew and Grant Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Geddie will be conducted on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Tyrone with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
The family lovingly requests that memorial contributions in Mrs. Geddie’s memory be made to the Friendship Class at First Christian Church of Tyrone, 294 Jenkins Road, Tyrone, Ga. 30290.
The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers and they include; Don Gruel, Chris Jones, Herb Mesa, Mike Shahpazian, Mike Geddie, and Bob Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will include, Jerry Holland, Ozzy Rodriquez, Joe Geddie, Sonny Klauss, and J.J. Klauss.
