Paul Jorgen Christensen, 81, of Brooks, passed away January 2, 2018.
He was born on May 7, 1936 to the late Paul and Ruth Christensen in Pittsfield, Mass. and grew up in Syracuse, N.Y. After graduating Cornell University, he joined the United States Army, rose to a 2nd Lieutenant and also served as a Ranger. Paul loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing as well as baseball. He retired from Kiewit Company after 30 years as a contractor. He moved to Atlanta in 1983 working on the interstate system and made his home here.
Paul is preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Ann Christensen and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anne Marie Christensen; children, Marguerite (Nick) Kotantoulas, Ken (Rikki) Christensen, Glenn (Karen) Christensen, Carl (Deb) Christensen, and Joseph (Lora) Mikula; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, James (Karen) Christensen and Jon (Hetti) Christensen.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow the service at Brooks Memorial Gardens, Brooks. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
