Don Kaye (Donald Koscierzyna), accomplished artist and beloved art teacher of many budding artists in the Fayette and Clayton County areas, passed away July 11, 2017, only a week after his 90th birthday.
Born on the fourth of July, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, Don proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He often entertained his art students with stories of his time in the military, as well as with other fascinating stories about his life. He loved painting and had a passion for teaching others how to paint, making even the most basic beginner feel comfortable with a brush in hand. His jokes and feigned gruffness put all his students at ease in the class.
Preceded in death by his wife Ethel and his brother Arthur. Don is survived by his brother Lawrence, two sisters, Carol and Ruth, and many nieces and nephews.
Don and Ethel are both buried at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton , Georgia.
