Ruby “Margaret” Carpenter, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away August 29, 2017. She was born on June 24, 1940 in Marengo County, Ala. to the late Walter and Thelma Dixie Watt. Margaret was owner and operator of Carpenter Insurance Agency of Fayetteville since 1970 as well as Anytime Bail Bonding since 1990. She was an avid outdoors lady, who enjoyed horses and fishing.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Carpenter on December 25, 1979 and her son, Alan Carpenter on May 26, 1981. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Carpenter Spruill; grandchild, Jody Spruill; great-grandchild, Avery Spruill; sister, Louise Banks; and brother, Leon Watt.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
