James Osburn

James F. Osburn, 71, died peacefully in his sleep Friday, with his wife by his side at Doctor’s Hospice in Fayetteville. A plumber by trade, he was known as Jim the Plumber in the Fayette and surrounding counties. He worked with the Boy Scouts for several years and loved to fish. His favorite meeting place was Waffle House.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry; four sons, Frank (Tracy) of Nicholasville, Ky., Robert (Sonya) of Brooks, Johnny of Fayetteville, and Christopher (Leslie) of Sandy Springs; five grandchildren, Raven Osburn, Grady Perkins, Carrie Osburn, Ethan Perkins, and Peyton Osburn; mother, Doris Campbell of Covington; sisters, Sherry (Larry) Owen of Covington, Juanita (Rick) Bissonnett of Monroe, and Shelia (Paul) Mouldy of Morton, Miss.; brothers, Lee (Mary) Johnston of Conyers and Dan (Lauri) Osburn of Brooklyn, Mich.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will take place at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 6- 8 p.m. The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
