Billy Carson, 87, of Fayetteville, Ga. passed away July 13, 2017.
He was born on April 2, 1930 in Brooks, Ga. to the late Oscar and Annie Carson. Billy proudly served his country and retired after 22 years in the U.S. Navy as well as retiring from the N.S.A. He was also the owner of Jackson General Store in Fayette County, where he served and enjoyed the community for 20 years.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae Carson and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Debora Carson and Vickie (John) Zyla; grandchildren, Bryan Tucker, Heath Tucker, Ryan Zyla, Rachel Zyla Gorman, Jared Zyla, Sarah Zyla, and Jacob Zyla; great-grandchildren, Eavan Hosford and Maisie Zyla Gorman.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. A private family burial will be at Brooks Memorial Gardens, Brooks, Ga. at a later date. The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
