Glen Alice Ewald, 79, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 after a long illness. She was born on July 22, 1937 in Cisco, Ga. to Nanny Lou and Ernest C. Arthur.
Glen Alice dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a dedicated servant of the Lord. She had a gentle spirit and treated everyone she knew with true kindness and respect. She was quite the athlete, playing basketball, tennis, golf and softball, and tried so hard to coach her daughters in several of these sports to no avail. A more loving, devoted and patient mother could not exist. She loved nature, her church, traveling, reading the Bible, and taking daily walks around the lake where she lived. Glen was Bob’s “Georgia Peach,” which he affectionately called her during their 56 years of marriage.
Glen Alice was preceded in death by her son, Robert Arthur Ewald; her parents; and her brother, Gerald Arthur.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” E. Ewald; her daughters, Jill Ann Young, Jennifer Lynn Scott, and Mary Lou Ewald (Allen Landers); her grandchildren, Colin, Tyler, Cassidy, Jalyn, Lance (Nicole) and Brittany; her great-grandchildren, Keely and Anbree; her brothers, Frank Arthur and Travis Arthur; her sisters, Virginia Arthur, Jane Pugmire and Ann Perry (Roy); and a host of nieces and nephews..
The funeral service for Glen Alice was held at 12 noon on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Watson officiating. Burial immediately followed the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family received friends from 10 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
