Business students head to national competition

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter members at Sandy Creek High are California bound for the association’s National Leadership Conference after posting one of the top six test scores in their event at the State FBLA Leadership conference.

Nathan Brown, Vincent Bartolomei and Hannah Zeiler will represent Georgia at the national conference in Anaheim, California June 29-July 2. Nathan will compete in sports entertainment management, and Vincent and Hannah will compete in hospitality management. The students will be grouped with other top six test scorers in their events as members of a “super team.”

A total of seven students earned top 10 placements at the state competition. The team of Cole Neely, Hannah Zeiler, and Nathan Brown placed third in sports and entertainment management.

The team of Vincent Bartolomei and Hannah Zeiler placed fourth in hospitality management. The team of Meredith Raines and Kiara Alston placed sixth in public service announcement. Additionally, Megan D’Errico took fifth place in graphic design.

Business education teacher Melanie Duncan is the FBLA advisor at Sandy Creek High.
FBLA is a nonprofit education association that prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields.
