Lyle Emory Caldwell, 78, of Locust Grove passed away April 3, 2017. He was born in Atlanta, Ga. on January 22, 1939 to the late Freeman and Lila Caldwell.
He retired after 48 years at Delta Airlines as a mechanic and inspector. He enjoyed the hobby of restoring old cars. He also collected guns, and was an avid World War II buff.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Sandra Caldwell; stepsons, Vincent (Althea) Chitwood, Chris (Joyce) Cannon, Andy (Bailey) Cannon, and Greg (Rhonda) Cannon; brothers, John Head Caldwell and James (Peggy) Caldwell; step grandchildren, Josh and Emily Osborn; step great-grandchildren, Cora and Camilla Osborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City with Chaplain Michael Winsor officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
