James Melson Houston, Sr., 89, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017.
He was born on December 17, 1927 in Newnan, Ga. to Lucille and James Hugh Houston. Mr. Houston proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, and his son, James Houston, Jr., and survived by his daughter, Debra (Karl) Johnson of Brooks; his brother, Marion “Buddy” (Beverly) Houston of Newnan; his sister, Janet “Rabbit” Vannoy of Palmetto, four grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. There will be a private interment.
