All are invited to Love Feasts in Moravian Tradition at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. Love Feasts are worship services, but not communion services, growing out of the New Testament tradition of the Agape meal.

Everyone will be served a Love Feast bun, Moravian-recipe coffee or apple juice, and a beeswax candle, all accompanied by music by the Sanctuary Choir; The Christ Our Shepherd Brass, Flute Choir, and Clarinet Choir; da Chiesa strings; Joyful Noise Ringers; the Church Band (a cross-generational group); GraceFlock musicians; and the Love Feast Consort.

The instrumental Musical Offering begins 30 minutes before each Love Feast with carols in the narthex by the Church Band. Conductors include James C. Hagberg, Karl Dietmeyer, David Byers, and Christ Our Shepherd’s Minister of Music, David Beecher.

The music includes festive arrangements of songs by contemporary composer/performer Michael W. Smith, along with a rich variety of seasonal music and carols for the congregation.

New this year are three anthems published in 2016: “Miracle in Mystery” by local composer Dr. William A. Pasch, “On This Day Earth Shall Ring,” and “See Amid the Winter’s Snow.”

The church is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.
