The Flat Rock Middle Symphonic Band is in high demand this year, having been selected to perform as a guest band at several of the southeast’s most prestigious band clinics.

Hundreds of bands from the southeastern United States apply each year to be a featured band at the clinics. Bands submit recordings of their music, which are evaluated by some of the top musicians in the country.

The Flat Rock Middle Symphonic Band has been selected to perform as a guest band at the following middle school music clinics, and will perform for over 3,000 audience members combined: Reinhardt University Middle School Honor Band Clinic, Nov. 4; Southeastern United States Band Clinic at Troy University, Dec. 2; University of Georgia Midfest Band Clinic, Dec. 8; and University of Alabama Honor Band Clinic, Dec. 9.

“These extremely talented students will represent Fayette County on some of the most beautiful, public, and visible stages this fall throughout our state and Alabama. It is extremely difficult to get invited to play at these events; it is an honor to be selected to act as an exemplary ensemble for each event,” said band director Matthew Price.
