Frankie Bell Lyle, 91, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016.
She was a resident of Somerby Assisted Living in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and formerly resided in Fayetteville, Ga. Frankie was born August 19, 1924, in Atlanta, Ga., an only child to Jessie Pauline and Frank Marshall Bell. She attended Joe Brown Middle School and graduated from Commercial High School, Atlanta. She was a long time member of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in East Point, Ga. and later moved her membership to New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga.
Frankie was married for 59 years to the late John D. Lyle. Frankie worked as an executive secretary for most of her life. She began her career at Standard Oil Company, worked for various Atlanta attorneys, and retired as secretary and personnel manager for the store managers at JCPenney at Greenbrier Mall in Atlanta, Ga. After retirement, she and Johnny moved to Fayetteville and became active in the community there. She was a longtime member of the Fayette Friends and Neighbors, where she met and made new friends and took an active part in their activities.
Frankie is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Tony Richards of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; son, F. David Lyle of Roswell, Ga.; grandchildren, David A. Richards of Grass Valley, Calif., Dawn Richards Middleton and her husband Chase, of Miramar Beach, Fla., and Morgan Marie Lyle of Roswell, Ga.; great-granddaughter, Lyle McCrae Middleton of Miramar Beach, Fla.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 12 p.m., at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
