Michael Alfred DiBenedetto, Sr., of Peachtree City, passed away July 5, 2016 at the age of 61.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Alfred and Anne DiBenedetto. He was a graduate of St. Thomas University in Miami, Fla. Mike was a flight superintendent for Delta Airlines for 39 years. Michael was a fiercely loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He loved all 39 years of his time at Delta Airlines, as the company was not only his career, but an extension of his family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet DiBenedetto; father Alfred DiBenedetto of Hillsboro Beach, Fla.; mother-in-law Joan Whittenberg of Peachtree City, Ga.; son Michael DiBenedetto and daughter-in-law Ashley DiBenedetto of Johns Creek, Ga.; brother Dr. John DiBenedetto and sister-in-law Debbie DiBenedetto of Senoia, Ga.; sister Jeanne Smith and brother-in-law David Smith of Davie, Fla.; niece Dr. Christina Bryant and husband Marshall Bryant of Senoia, Ga.; nephew Christopher DiBenedetto and wife Carissa DiBenedetto of Kennesaw, Ga.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. A reception with the family will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Michael’s name be made to the American Cancer Society.
