Darryl Royce Chaney, age 72

Darryl Royce Chaney passed away on Tuesday, June 14th at Southwest Christian Care after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Atlanta, Ga., on September 5, 1945. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gay Lambert Chaney; daughter, Christi Gray (John); son, Dee Chaney; brother, Dale S. Chaney; sister, Doe C. Evans; and 6 grandchildren. He worked for Georgia State University for over 30 years. He was a long time member and deacon of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. He was a member of Fayette County Civitan Club.

Visitation was on Thursday, June 16th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The funeral service was held at Fayetteville First Baptist Church on Friday, June 17th at 3 p.m.
