After an extended battle with Leukemia, Joseph Peter Piazza passed away on April 19, 2016 in Fayetteville, Ga. at the age of 61.
He leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Piazza; his sons, Jim and Joey Piazza; and his daughter, Juliana Piazza.
Joseph was born on September 15, 1954 in Perth Amboy, N.J., to father James Piazza and mother Joanna Piazza. He graduated from Upsala College (East Orange, N.J.), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1977, while also earning the honor of captain of the football team. Joseph married his beautiful wife Cynthia on May 13, 1984.
Joseph’s passions in life were his family and his work, where he spent 20 years at Sysco Food Service, both in Miami and Atlanta. We would like to thank our Sysco family who have been incredibly supportive throughout the last 7 years.
Joseph is survived by his wife and children, his mother, as well as his brother, James Piazza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father, James.
Joseph’s services will include a visitation on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga., as well as a Saturday service on April 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, Ga.
The family would especially like to thank the countless doctors, nurses and other medical staff at Emory University Hospital and Piedmont Fayette Hospital, for their excellent work and loving care over the last 7 years.
