The Griffin Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force held a community-wide training on domestic violence March 24 at the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the training was to reach out to leaders of the faith community, educate them about the dynamics of domestic violence and raise their awareness of available resources in the community they can utilize.

Training facilitator Mike Mertz spoke to an estimated 40 local faith leaders who attended including pastors, ministers, and other church staff.

To learn more about how your church or place of worship can work with the domestic violence community to help victims, contact task force chair Vanessa Wilkins at 770-461-3839 ext. 152.
