Nancy Hodges Sanders, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away February 12, 2016.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family first. Nancy was a devout member of her church, where she sent encouraging cards to everyone through a card ministry. She loved birds and flowers, enjoying God’s creation.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leslie John Sanders, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Jim) Dutton of Fayetteville and Leslie (Gary) Lamb of Bellingham, Wash.; granddaughters Heather (Shane) Roye of Fayetteville, Cynthia (Frank) Seale of McDonough, Deana Fecteau of Washington, Cindy (Jim) Hawthorn of Douglasville, Cathy (Stuart) Ledford of Douglasville; grandson Billy (Elizabeth) Ray of Newnan; 13 great-grandchildren; brother J.W. Hodges of Decatur, Ga., and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Sunday, February 14, 2016, 2 p.m., at Fayetteville Christian Church, with Minister Andrew Higle officiating. Burial followed at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. The family received friends Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
