German magician visits Whitewater

German students at Whitewater High had a truly magical experience when Berlin-born professional magician Martin Lubcke visited the school to perform two shows during his United States tour that includes Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Students were amazed and mystified by his illusions, which go from showcasing the art of magic to performing the impossible. He also interjects comedy and surprises throughout his performances for a lively and unforgettable experience that kept students wondering how he was pulling off each illusion and magic trick.

The performances were a gift to the school from the German Consulate in Atlanta and the Goethe Center (Goethe-Zentrum) Atlanta.

Whitewater High German teacher Patrick Wallace says Lubcke has promised to make a return visit to the school on his next tour of Georgia.
