The First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City is participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring on Super Bowl Sunday.

This project of the church youth was started in 1990 in Columbia, S.C., and has grown nationwide to thousands of churches across the country.

A simple prayer: “Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat” is inspiring a youth-led movement to help hungry people around the world.

Since inception, over $100 million for local charities has been raised across the country.

All money and food collected this year at First Pres will be donated to Fayette Samaritans, a local charity that feeds the hungry in the community and is one of the missions of First Presbyterian Church.
