Locations across Fayette County during the week of Jan. 18-25 experienced two burglaries, two entering auto incidents and the theft of a car trailer.
A Jan. 19 burglary on Hood Avenue in unincorporated Fayette County resulted in the theft of antique firearms and other items.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the homeowner returned home in the mid-afternoon hours to find a number of items out of place and others missing. Among the missing items were two antique rifles, an antique handgun, a box of china, a check book and cash, said Babb.
The burglary and the method of entry into the residence are under investigation.
A Jan. 20 burglary in Fayetteville resulted in nothing taken from the residence.
Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow said an alarm call to a McIntosh Place Drive residence found that a rear window had been broken, though nothing appeared to be missing in the residence.
Whitlow said an attempt had been made to disable the alarm system.
An entering auto incident in Peachtree City on Jan. 19 at a Pine Point residence resulted in the theft of a number of items after a window was broken out.
Reported at approximately 7:15 a.m., officers were told that the left rear window of a Toyota Tundra was broken during the nighttime hours while parked in the driveway. Items stolen included a calculator, sunglasses and a watch, according to police reports.
The owner noted that the vehicle’s doors were locked at the time of the entry, reports said.
A second entering auto during the period occurred on Westbridge Lane in unincorporated Fayette.
Babb said the incident occurred between 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 and noon on Jan. 24. The vehicle owner found a forced entry made after the rear driver’s side window had been smashed. The vehicle had been rummaged and a bottle of cologne stolen, said Babb.
A Huddleston Road business owner in Peachtree City on Jan. 18 reported the theft of a 20-foot trailer. The business owner told officers the stolen item was a faded red, 2007 Better Built car trailer, according to reports from the Peachtree City Police Department.
