Free guitar lessons available

Family Patterns Matter recently partnered with the organization Guitars Not Guns, which offers quality guitar lessons at no cost to children 8-18. The guitars are provided by the organization as well. Each child is given a free guitar when completing the nine-week course.

Guitars Not Guns is based on Peachtree City and has chapters throughout the nation as well as Canada.

“The opportunity to learn a musical instrument has shown benefits in academic success and building self-confidence in youth,” according to a spokesperson. “It is for these reasons that we want to make sure we serve as many deserving children involved not only with Family Patterns Matter but those organizations that work with at risk youth. Our target is children who are at risk for failing in school and those who struggle to fit in.”
