Three teens were injured Monday afternoon when their golf cart pulled in front of an oncoming car just south of the intersection of Ga. Highway 54 and South Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.
Peachtree City Police Department spokesperson Odilia Bergh said the accident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. at the crosswalk area on South Peachtree Parkway immediately south of the intersection with Hwy. 54.
Bergh said the golf cart occupants, one male and two females in their mid-teens, had entered the crosswalk from the east side of the roadway. A vehicle in the right lane traveling northbound toward the intersection had stopped to let the cart pass. The driver of the vehicle travelling in the left lane said she did not see the cart and subsequently struck it, said Bergh.
The three teens were ejected and were transported to Atlanta Medical Center. Their condition was not immediately known, Bergh said.
There was no charge against the driver of the vehicle who struck the cart because she had the right-of-way, Bergh said.
