The Belarus National Christian Choir will perform in concert at Evergreen Church on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.
The 33-member choir and instrumental ensemble will perform a one hour program of Russian Classics and folk music along with the Hallelujah Chorus, “It is Well” and other American favorites.
Formed in 1986, the choir has performed in Eastern Europe, France, Germany and Russia, and is currently on tour in the United States.
Nickolay Lamako, dean of music at Minsk Seminary, is the founder and conductor of the choir. Viktor Krutsko, president of the Evangelical Union of Belarus, is spokesperson and will introduce the musical selections.
Admission is free of charge. An offering will be taken to train seminary students and to support Belarusian pastors and their families who face daily struggles and oppression as they lead home churches throughout Belarus.
